Alyssa is a graduate from The University of Arizona School of Dance, earning her B.F.A. in Dance, with an additional B.A. in Communication. Her strong dance background, consisting of mentorship from The American Ballet Theater, The Joffrey Ballet, and The French Academy of Ballet allows her prestigious technique to be a stand-out quality in the industry. She has been acknowledged and rewarded numerous times for her performance quality and precision. She began performing in musical theatre productions at a later age, discovering her love for singing and storytelling. Since then, she has embraced many roles, some of her favorites being Diana Morales in A Chorus Line, Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia!, and Pilar in Legally Blonde. Alyssa has also taken on ensemble tracks in other productions, such as Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, An American in Paris, and Cabaret. She was thrilled to make her Broadway National Tour debut in Hairspray playing the role of Shelley, and understudying and performing the role of Penny Pingleton! As a first-generation Cuban-American, Alyssa is proud of her heritage and passionate about bringing her ethnicity and culture to the stage.
